PRESS FAST FORWARD
Press Fast Forward is an exploration of time, memory, and momentum in an age defined by constant acceleration.
It looks at how we move through the world today: scrolling, processing, absorbing, and reacting at speeds that often outpace reflection. Images flash by, ideas overlap, identities evolve, and technology continuously reshapes how we see, feel, and communicate.
This exhibition brings together artists who are deeply aware of that condition.
Through painting, drawing, photography, and collage, their works capture fragments of experiences. These are moments that feel both immediate and layered, fleeting yet significant. Some pieces slow time down, inviting stillness and contemplation. Others embrace the chaos, reflecting the intensity and fragmentation of modern life. Together, they form a visual conversation about what it means to exist within this continuous state of motion.
For me, Press Fast Forward is deeply personal.
As an artist, I’ve always been caught between two forces: the desire to slow down and fully understand a moment, and the reality that the world keeps moving -faster and faster- whether we’re ready or not. Technology has amplified that tension. It allows us to create, share, and connect instantly, but it also compresses time, making reflection feel like a luxury.
This exhibition is my way of navigating that space.
It’s about holding onto memory while stepping into the future. It’s about honoring the human experience within systems that are constantly evolving. It’s about recognizing that even in a world driven by speed, artists still have the power to pause, reinterpret, and give meaning to what might otherwise pass unnoticed.
As a curator in the Visual Voices program at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning, bringing these artists together was intentional.
Out of more than fifty voices, I selected eleven whose work speaks directly to this moment, artists who are not only responding to change, but shaping how we understand it.
Ultimately, Press Fast Forward is an invitation:
to look closer, to reflect deeper, and to consider how we move through time, not just quickly, but meaningfully. This page extends the experience beyond the gallery -offering access to artist interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and evolving stories that continue to unfold over time.
By joining and supporting this space, you help amplify these voices and sustain the work while gaining early access to exclusive content, future releases, and collector opportunities.
This is where the exhibition continues......
